Eileen and Jim's Fall Wedding at The Waveny House in New Canaan, Connecticut

Eileen and Jim were married in November 2019 at the historic Waveny House in Waveny Park, New Canaan, Connecticut. These two were the final wedding on my 2019 season and it was the perfect wedding to end with.

Eileen and Jim opted for my Signature Full Service Planning package as they both had busy careers and not much time to devote to the planning. After an initial consultation to get a feel for the style they were interested in, I began the hunt for their venue. The venue must fit the following criteria: Saturday availability for 75-80 guests, indoor and outdoor space, preferably a bridal room on-property, nothing too “cookie-cutter” (these two definitely had style!) and it needed to be within 25 minutes of their home in Stamford, Connecticut.

We narrowed our search down to Waveny House in New Canaan or DCA Meadowlands in Darien. After a day spent touring both venues, they both knew that Waveny was it. The manor has so much character with absolutely stunning grounds for photos and their ceremony.

We spent from July 2018 to November 2019 working together on all the details: building their dream vendor team, crafting their ideal menu, designing the space, mapping out transportation itineraries and finalizing timelines. They were both so laid-back and easy to work with – you two seriously were dream clients and made my job a breeze!

November 2nd arrived and it was show time! We had a perfect New England autumn day – cool and crisp yet plenty of sunshine, some lingering foliage, and a great energy all around. Eileen and her girls got ready at the nearby Hilton Garden Inn and Jim and the guys got ready at the couple’s home. When I say the fashion and details for this wedding were spot-on, I truly mean in. It was so refreshing to see something unique – Eileen wore chunky black booties and a badass Rue de Seine bridal gown complete with statement accessories, Jim wore a charcoal tweed suit and the bridal party were all decked in greys & blacks. There was a bit of an “old world Gothic” vibe to the entire day – and it was AWESOME!

Everything from their First Look to the ceremony to the New England fall-inspired menu was pure magic. I had so much fun helping to plan their big day and even more fun watching it all come together. I truly love watching my couples get to be fully present and experience their wedding day. We work so hard to plan it that it is so rewarding to witness them enjoy every single moment of it knowing that I will handle anything that comes up to ensure their only job is to celebrate with their loved ones.

Eileen and Jim, thank you so much for bringing me on board! Here’s to years of health and happiness for you both!
