Courtney & Andrew's intimate wedding at the Lounsbury House in Ridgefield, CT

Courtney and Andrew were married on a crisp November day in the cute town of Ridgefield, Connecticut.

Courtney came to me about 6 months before their wedding date looking for help with designing the space, coordinating logistics and booking a few remaining vendors. We setup a consultation call to go over where she was in the process, what was overwhelming her, her vision for the design and how I could best help.

They wanted a very classic and traditional wedding featuring a neutral palette, hints of gold and an all around elegant feel. The Lounsbury House is a very traditional venue and we wanted to ensure we were designing around the space in addition to designing around Courtney & Andrew's taste.

Our partnership began with a meeting at the venue to walk through the space, how we would use each part of the property, weather plans, space inclusions and then what we wanted to upgrade. Courtney and I also sat down to do a deep dive into all her existing vendor contracts before I began managing and planning on the back end.

November 6th arrived before we knew it and it was time for all the hard work to be put into action. Courtney started the day with her closest friends and family at their home in Ridgefield. Hair & makeup was done by the team at Simply Gorgeous by Erin. Andrew got ready with his two sons at Hotel Zero Degrees before coming to the Lounsbury House for finishing touches.

The couple opted to share in a first look which took place right on the property. The fall foliage hung around for them and the sunlight cast a perfect glow as these two saw each other for the first time.

At 5pm, our ceremony began outside on the patio and they exchanged their vows under the large pergola. Guests were then invited to enjoy cocktail hour on the front terrace in addition to exploring the interior of the house. The couple opted to keep formalities to a minimum and welcomed their guests with a quick toast before dinner was served. We opened up the dance floor with their first dance which picked up the tempo halfway through and guests were invited to join them on the checkered dance floor.

Later in the evening, cake was served. Courtney has an affinity for a particular grocery store cake so in lieu of a large wedding cake, she ordered 12 of her favorite cakes and set one out for every guest table to enjoy. I loved that she opted to do something different and served what she loved rather than what is expected.

I absolutely loved working with these two and was so honored to have been able to play a small role in their wedding day.

Courtney's 5 star review speaks for itself!

When it comes to weddings, it’s easy to underestimate all the moving parts – which is where we found ourselves a few months into planning. We knew we wanted to make the day not only beautiful, but convenient for our guests - but as two pretty busy professionals it became too much very quickly. Alyssa was amazing. After just 1 meeting, she had our look sorted, existing vendors lined up, new vendors identified, and orders all squared away. She kept us on track from a timing perspective, had informed recommendations for every question we asked and ensured nothing slipped through the cracks. She was beyond professional to work with and gave us a peace-of-mind we wouldn’t have had otherwise – and we weren’t the only ones who noticed. Our caterer commented “I work with many wedding planners - she was excellent.” We'd highly recommend working with Alyssa on everything from look to logistics - she's exceptional.
