What do you do when Covid spoils your plans for a destination wedding in the South of France?
You work with what you have and throw the most beautiful tented soiree along the Connecticut shoreline with a few tasteful French touches (I'm looking at you colorful macarons from Sift Bakeshop!)
Our lovely bride, Capucine, called me on a short planning timeline for her July 2021 wedding at her family's home in Mystic, Connecticut. She brought me up to speed on where she was in the process, what vendors she had booked so far and what was causing her stress that she needed help with. We ended this first call with a game plan and immediately set up a time for our first in-person meeting to walk the property and begin with the planning & design.
One of the TBD items was a place for her ceremony. She knew she wanted this in a separate location from the reception but was having a hard time figuring out where. I took a chance and reached out to Stone Acres Farm thinking there was no way they would have availability but they did! Capucine loved this space as she frequented the farm many times for farm dinners and was shocked she didn't think of them as an option. The garden was the perfect spot for her and JR to exchange their vows.
Their wedding day was here before we knew it. And a beautiful day it was! The sun was shining overhead and guests arrived to the farm and made their way to the garden. Gourmet Galley was on-site pouring glasses of hand-selected champagne Capucine picked out just for their guests (after all, great champagne is a MUST when you are from France). One of their dear friends officiated the ceremony as they became a married couple surrounded by their closest friends and family.
The buses then brought everyone back to Capucine's home for an al-fresco cocktail hour complete with a Parisian-inspired lounge set from Gather & Lounge and a one-of-a-kind seating chart by Nob Hill Jane with tables numbers in French.
Our tent felt like a chic backyard garden party. Long farm tables adorned with lush garlands and pops of bright colors by Hana Floral and the adorable boxes of macarons from Sift completed the table settings. Their band kept the dance floor packed all night.
Capucine surprised JR towards the end of the reception with a pair of custom sneakers that he immediately changed into. Capucine also had an outfit change and this uber-cool husband & wife duo soaked in every final second of their reception. The party didn't stop there and many guests opted to stay at Capucine's home for an after-party. When your wedding is this much fun, no one wants the party to end!
I absolutely loved getting to know this super sweet and fun couple and helping them put together an amazing Plan B for their wedding. All the beautiful details, colors, and personalized touches made this wedding truly one of a kind!
