Aubrey and Quen's summer solstice wedding at the Webb Barn in Wethersfield, Connecticut!

Aubrey and Quen were married on June 22, 2019 at the Webb Barn in Wethersfield, CT. If you have never been here, it’s such a cute spot in the historic part of Old Wethersfield. The barn is super rustic and the grounds are ideal for a casual, outdoor wedding!

I was introduced to Aubrey and Quen by one of my favorite photographers in the industry, Elizabeth Grant. She and I had worked together (ironically enough, exactly 1 year prior to Aubrey & Quen’s big day) and she had given them my name as a possible wedding coordinator. We set up an initial phone call and a day or two later, they made the decision to move forward with working together!

These two brought me on-board for Month-Of Coordination. For any of you who know me, my “Moth-Of” packages start much beyond that (I actually got to work for them right away to set up hotel blocks as their wedding fell over the Traveler’s Gold Tournament so we knew we needed to get blocks in place as quickly as possible!)! I just love to be involved, get to know you as a couple and I share in your excitement while planning your big day! I always want my couples to feel like they can reach out at any time to ask my opinion, solicit advice or just run a contract by me before they sign! And Aubrey and Quen did just that!

We had several check-in emails over the next few months to ensure they were on track with planning and kept the lines of communication open! Before we knew it, winter was over, spring arrived and it was time for the final planning to begin!

We had several more phone calls and venue site visits to review photography options, venue layout, overall timeline for the day, food truck placement (YUP they had pizza AND BBQ for their big day!) and the dreaded discussion of back-up plans in case of rain!

Then, the weekend was here! We all met at Webb Barn on Friday evening for their rehearsal. I always love meeting the full bridal party and seeing all of the different personalities and dynamics. I knew they were going to be a fun group (and trust me, they did not disappoint)!

Their wedding day began at 8:30am with hair and makeup at the Sheraton for the ladies. I popped in to check on them around noon and everyone was in great spirits and excited for the festivities. Quen and his guys were all hanging out in the adjacent suite and enjoying a beer together before photos started.

Aubrey & Quen opted to do a First Look (which I absolutely love!). It is my favorite part of the wedding day. No matter what I am doing, I always make it a point to take a break and witness this moment from afar. It’s such a special part of the day and a true honor to be a part of!

Their ceremony was held at the Webb Barn underneath a beautiful tree. Just as Aubrey and her mom started to walk down the aisle, it began to rain. No one minded as Aubrey and Quen were radiating love and happiness and every person there wanted to be a part of this day! Lucky for us, the rain passed quickly and within 10 minutes, the skies cleared up!

The overall vibe of their day was laid back and fun (exactly how I would describe these two!) There were minimal formalities (although when Quen’s brother got up and gave his speech, I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house) and no formal meal period. Guests were welcome to pop over to the food trucks and help themselves whenever they were hungry. And go back for seconds (okay and thirds) whenever they wanted! After all, when Big Green Truck Pizza puts out like 15 different types of pizza, you really do your best to try them all!

Their band had everyone up and dancing from the very beginning. We even had a special performance by one of the bridesmaids who got up and sang along with the band (and killed it BTW!) The couple created their own favors (mini mason jars of their favorite coffee blend!) and instead of a formal wedding cake, cupcakes were set out later in the night. Their wedding was such a perfect representation of their style and relationship and I was so fortunate to have been a part of it!

Aubrey & Quen – you two are amazing and thank you for trusting me with your big day!
