I can’t believe we are already into March – only 13 days until Spring officially arrives! Although with the snow storm we’re getting today, you would never know it! How many of you are home from work today and working on wedding details?! Wedding season is right around the corner and I could not be more excited. As most of you know, I’m a bride-to-be myself and am getting married this April (only 45 days left, but who’s counting right?!) One of the last pieces of the planning puzzle that I have been putting together is gifts for my bridesmaids. I wanted to do this week’s blog post on ideas I have come across that are unique. I love the idea of matching satin robes for photos but I wanted gifts for each of my ‘maids that is a little more outside the box. I’m not saying which ones I am getting for my girls as I’m sure at least 1 or 2 of them will be reading this! I have to keep some things a secret!
1. Offer to pay for their hair and/or makeup or set up pre-wedding mani/pedis.
This one is not a secret as I have already let my girls know I’m doing this for them but offering to pay for their day-of hair and/or makeup is a wonderful addition to their gift. Wedding etiquette typically says if you are making it a must to have hair and makeup professionally done, you should be the one covering the cost for the services. If it is optional to the bridesmaids, then it is okay to pass the cost onto them. I decided that I really wanted all my ladies to have their makeup professionally done so as part of their gift, I am covering this cost for them. I left hair optional as I’m blessed with a beautiful group of bridesmaids and several prefer to just do their own hair. For those that wanted to have it professionally done, I did pass this cost onto them. Another option would be to get all your girls together for a pre-wedding spa day and get mani/pedis so everyone’s nails are ready for the big day!
2. These adorable personalized tote bags from Confetti Momma:
How cute are these?! I love that they come in three colors with various choices for the satin ribbon tie. It’s a great way to incorporate your wedding colors into a gift. It’s also something that isn’t overly “bridesmaidsy” so your girls can use it again and again. At less than $20 per bag, they are also super affordable.
3. Engraved EDIBLE chocolate plaques from Noteworthy Chocolates (a Connecticut based company for my local brides but they also ship anywhere!)
I met Michael, the owner of the company, at a bridal expo I recently attended and sampled the product first-hand. Ladies, I am a chocolate addict and this chocolate was to die for. They are the ONLY company in the world that laser engraves chocolate, how cool is that?! You can personalize each plaque with your girls’ names and a message for each. The chocolate plaques come in three flavors: white chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate. They also come in various sizes from 6oz up to 12oz. These are also an awesome idea to use for place cards or favors for your guests!
4. Personalized Yankee Candles:
We all love the scented Yankee candles, so why not give these as a gift with a special photo of you and your bridesmaid printed on the candle holder? The candles come in a variety of sizes and all your favorite Yankee candle scents. These are another fun and creative gift idea that your ‘maids can use over and over and be reminded of your special day!
5. These personalized glass jewelry boxes from Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/548770702/personalized-glass-jewelry-box?
6. High-quality personalized throw blankets from Swell Forever: https://swellforever.com/collections/all/products/the-lindsay-forever-blanket-throw
These blankets are custom made for each of your bridesmaids and something they will treasure for years to come. They come in a variety of sizes and materials ranging from $65 to $250+. The company is also run by a female entrepreneur (#bossbabe) and a portion of each purchase goes towards funding adoption and bringing awareness to foster care. You get a wonderful gift for each of your girls and also get to give back to the community, this blanket is a win-win.
7. These rose gold personalized wine tumblers with a lid:
I’m a wine lover as are most of my besties so these are just perfect! The rose gold adds a chicness to them and the personalization ensures no one will lose their beverage! Pair the wine glass with a mini wine bottle and you’re all set! Another nice feature – they are vacuum sealed and will keep your drink cold for up to 24 hours. Don’t tell anyone, but you may find me sneaking several glasses of Kim Crawford to the beach in this!
That’s it for this week’s blog post! I hope you got some fun ideas for gifts to give to your bridesmaids! I’ll be spending the rest of the day curled up in front of a fire, binge watching Netflix and whipping up some chicken fajitas for my fiancée and I to enjoy! Tomorrow I have some exciting plans in the works which may just be the feature for next week’s post. Stay tuned and as always, Happy Planning!
