Meet Alyssa

Just as your signature is uniquely yours, so is your wedding day!

Alyssa Jean Signature Events is a boutique wedding and event planning company based in West Hartford, Connecticut. Boutique means every client works directly with me, Alyssa Johnson. I am a seasoned professional with a Bachelor's degree from UMASS Amherst in Hospitality & Event Management and years of experience in the industry planning intimate dinners for 10 to conventions for 2,500! My career in events began in Boston in 2012 where I had the pleasure of working at several of the most iconic properties in the city including Boston Park Plaza Hotel, Hynes Convention Center and the Boston Convention Exhibition Center. I transitioned to weddings in 2015 and spent a few years planning luxury weddings at the historic Wentworth by the Sea Hotel in New Castle, New Hampshire. My life changed in 2017 when my husband was offered a job in Connecticut and we moved to West Hartford. Alyssa Jean Signature Events was born in January 2018 and it has been the most rewarding experience of my life so far!

I offer planning services for all types of events, but weddings are my absolute favorite as I love the personal connection that I get to develop with my couples. It is always such an honor to work alongside you planning one of the best days of your lives!

I pride myself on a strong attention to detail (after all, a wedding is made up of a million little ones!), constant communication (ask any of my past clients and I can promise you the number one thing they will tell you is how much they appreciate my responsiveness!), and my passion and willingness to go above and beyond to ensure you get your dream day. I know that we have one chance to make your wedding day spectacular and I take my role in making that happen very seriously. I accept a limited number of clients each year as I pour my heart and soul into each one. I know you have your choice when it comes to choosing a wedding planner but I can promise you that no one will work harder than I do to deliver a wedding planning experience that surpasses all of your expectations.

I love getting to know my clients (who often leave as friends!) I firmly believe that your wedding day is a true reflection of your unique personalities and style, both as individuals and as a couple. AJSE couples want to enjoy their engagement and their wedding day and they trust me to make sure that happens! I love working with couples who understand the wedding day is just the beginning. They want beautiful design and a one-of-a-kind wedding but also know the most important part of the day is marrying the love of their life.

If that sounds like you, let's chat! I can't wait to meet you!

XO,

Alyssa

A few of my favorite things

1.

Snuggling my rescue dog, Finnegan. Watching him exist is something I consider an activity. All the dog moms out there will totally relate to this one. IYKYK!

3.

Health & Fitness. Yes I know that contradicts #2. But I believe in balance. I love exercise and always incorporate a daily workout.

5.

Sundays. Unless I have a wedding, Sundays are my day. Sometimes I plan mini day dates for my husband and I and sometimes we spend the day in our comfy clothes and binge watch Netflix (unless it's football season, then we watch NFL. I'm a Steelers fan and he's all about the Giants). There's just something about waking up on a Sunday morning and knowing it's a day of rest that feeds my soul.

2.

Cheese, Wine & Dessert. My top three true loves. I will always reach for bleu cheese, Cabernet Sauvignon and ice cream.

Though I also can't resist a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie!

4.

Cooking. By no means am I the world's greatest chef but I love to experiment in the kitchen. I am a big advocate of meal planning and cook most nights of the week!

6.

Planning Vacations. My Type A personality truly extends to all aspects of my life. I love to research, make spreadsheets and craft itineraries. I am the type of person who always needs to have a new trip to look forward to. Next up on my travel bucket list is Italy, Yellowstone & the Grand Tetons, and Germany.

Favorite place I've been so far: Costa Rica & Ireland!

"Our wedding day was the best day of our lives and a lot of it was due to Alyssa’s hard work and expertise in this field. The whole day went smoothly, and we did not have to think about a single thing other than simply enjoying ourselves on our day. I cannot thank her enough for making this day happen, especially during a pandemic. Her attentiveness, organizational skills, her communication is more than phenomenal. The way our wedding turned out could not have been done without her, the vendors she had suggested and the venue. I am still in awe of the result. Alyssa, thank you, thank you, thank you!"

"She is sweet, thoughtful, and just plain damn good at her job. On the day of our wedding, I probably saw her for all of 10 minutes (in a good way!) and I will say this - something that many of our guests mentioned after our party - the day went without a hiccup. There was no awkward lull in the events of that day, our tent looked INCREDIBLE, we made last minute decisions that ended up looking like we thought about them for a year, and I just simply couldn't have been happier. She is worth every penny."

"She had everything under control, asked the right questions, ordered the final counts of everything, set the detailed agenda and made sure everything was set. Alyssa also went above and beyond her job description making the wedding just the way we imagined it. She offered to tie the ribbons on the napkins for the reception the night before, helped with the bridal bouquet at the last moment and made sure all the technical systems were running flawlessly (such as ordering additional power for the ceremony musicians). Alyssa internalized our vision and made it happen!"
